Diversity & Inclusion
Jesuit High school is committed to having a student body and faculty that represents and celebrates Diversity and Inclusion. We promote and encourage critical thinking, dialogue, understanding and awareness. Jesuit embraces and is inclusive of ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic, religious, and other diversity. Such diversity broadens our student and faculty educational experiences.

Each year, schools across the US offer a “day of silence” to recognize that many LGBTQIA+ youth feel silenced in the face of bullying and discrimination. JHS has recognized this day for the past 15 years, with a prayer service inviting students to be silent and reflective for the school day in solidarity with youth marginalized because of who they are.
Last year, Unity Club redesigned a more celebratory “Day of Dignity.” On May 8, we will focus on LGBTQ+ youth most affected by COVID-19. LGBTQ+ people make up 40% of all youth experiencing homelessness. In this time of hardship, we invite you to stand with our LGBTQ+ youth. The Unity Team invites you to stand with our most vulnerable in these times, and we thank you for supporting youth on the margins.
Prayer for a Day of Silence:

Lead us with courage to be advocates for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions, just as you sent your advocate through the Holy Spirit. Amen.
