It’s often difficult to Browser-test websites.

IE6 ,IE7, IE8,  Firefox2, Firefox3, Opera, Safari, Chrome … it’s a painfull and harsh task to test them all.

I searched for a long time about standalone IE version, it was not so simple at all !

Here is a list of different ways to test your website on these browsers.

Browser Shots [BrW] :

Free. Take screenshots of your website on different browsers. It’s very low by moments. Lots of Browsers known !

Adobe BrowserLab [BrW]:

Free. Works with Adobe Air. Take screenshots of your website on different browsers. It’s faster than Browser Shots. Only IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari (only Win Xp & OS X)

Litmus [BrW] :

Paid service. Take screenshots of your website on different browsers. Compatibility Reports. IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Flock, Camino, Netscape, Opera, Sea Monkey (Windows & OS X)

IETester [StD-W] :

Free. In one window all IE browser (5.5 to 8 RC1). Some bugs with JS. Bugs with IE7. Very  practical !

Interner Explorer Collection [StD-W] :

Free. All IE browser versions : 1 to 8 !  Includes IE Dev Bar.

Mozilla Firefox Collection [StD-W] :

Free. Firefox browser versions : 2.0 to 3.6 !  Includes Firebug, Webdevelopper add-ons and FlashPlayer 10.

Multi-Safari [StD-A] :

Free. Permit multiple install of Safari in the same OS. Different Safari available within OS MAC version. (ie: for OS X 10.4 only Safari  2.0 to 3.04)

Free. (more infos, not working properly ?)

Microsoft Expression Web SuperPreview [StD-W] :

Free. Only IE 6 to 8. More with Expression App.

Paid service. Lots of Browsers known. Take screenshots in wanted dimensions.

Free. All Browser installation versions.

Five years with Firefox

Since several days you can celebrate the 5 years old of Mozilla Firefox.

There’s one well designed dedicated page at his adress : http://www.spreadfirefox.com/5years .

At the top of the page, I liked the other link to promote Mozilla Firefox around the world.

I like Mozilla’s WebDesign Websites. It’s clear, well designed and often flourished styled.

A new Google search engine in test

Since several hours, a new Google search engine is available in test : Cafeine

This search engine page  is  right here.

I tried with the expression « otyg blodhemn » and I found 7170 results Vs 803 with today engine. Results are not the same in three first pages but more relevant !

I hope this search engine will be up soon as final version !

An amazing idea : « you create your .psd design and we produce the xHTML template for you ! »

SiteGrinder 2, a product of Media Lab, is not the only soft who can do this. There’s lots of sites where you can send your .psd file and buy a  W3C valid xHTML template from it.
