Lytebox

Posted by Otyg On décembre - 12 - 2009

Lytebox is an alternative by Markus F. Hay at The well known Light Box Java Script code to manage pictures and gallery on web pages.

The purpose was to write a self-contained object that eliminated the dependency of prototype.js, effects.js, and scriptaculous.js.

No more updates since 2007… but  still up !

About target= »_blank » problem

Posted by Otyg On juillet - 20 - 2009

I was searching about target= »_blank » problem on Google.

Finally I’ve found two awesome and well discussed articles.

Firstly: from Cyber codeur. (FR). This is an old article but always up about target= »_blank » problem with W3C norms and coding.

Secondly: from (yes again =] ) Perishable Press (EN) : an unobtrusive JS solution (but a bit difficult to understand for people like me)

Around this target= »_blank » problem, I was able to ask 3 questions:

  1. Transitional / Strict coding for valid W3C norms (being valid or strict coding)
  2. Open a new page Vs usability (How to return to previous page with a new window  ? [e.g.])
  3. Inline coding Vs Script interpreted language (first more quick but not valid)

This article from Manuel Catez (FR) is a good summary of this problem.

Enjoy !
